AOL Instant Messenger Programs

Before you download

Downloads are handled behind a free user account so that file access can be monitored. If you do not yet have one, the register page explains how to sign up.

The AIM section of this downloads area gathers programs built around AOL Instant Messenger. Rather than a single product, it is organised as a small archive: exploit programs, AIM enhancements, and general tools each occupy their own slot, with smiley sets listed alongside them as lighter additions. The layout mirrors the wider community forum structure, where discussion threads and shared files live under one roof for visitors who browse the discuz-powered boards.

Access is gated behind a free user account, and the page is explicit about why: file access is monitored as a security precaution. Before any download proceeds, a note explains that the register page describes how to sign up, so newcomers are guided toward registration first. This mirrors how the wider hackerx community handles shared resources, keeping downloads tied to identifiable accounts rather than anonymous links.

Scanning is mentioned as an additional safeguard, with programs passed through McAfee Virus Scan before they are made available. On a board that carries exploit code, enhancement patches and third-party utilities, that kind of screening matters, because unverified archives are exactly where unwanted payloads tend to hide. The emphasis remains on process and transparency rather than on the spectacle of any single tool.

Browsing the list is straightforward: sections are separated into categories, entries appear beneath them, and pagination continues further down the page for anyone who wants to look deeper. Visually, the design keeps its high-contrast monochrome character — deep black against crisp white, sharp squared edges, uppercase sans-serif labels, and generous vertical spacing — so the archive reads more like a clean editorial index than a crowded file-sharing table.
